History:
FS Aquitaine (D650) was commissioned by the French Navy in 2015 as the lead vessel of the FREMM Aquitaine-class multi-mission frigate program. The class was developed jointly by France and Italy to create a modern generation of stealth frigates capable of performing anti-submarine warfare, air defense, and long-range strike missions.
Designed with advanced sonar systems, low-observable architecture, and integrated missile technologies, FS Aquitaine quickly became one of the French Navy's most advanced surface combatants. The FREMM program remains a major milestone in modern European naval engineering.
